How to download a Monzo bank statement
Monzo lets you choose the format when you download a statement: PDF, CSV or QIF. If you want a spreadsheet, you can usually get one straight from the app.
In the Monzo app
- Tap Home in the app's menu bar.
- Tap the three dots underneath your card.
- Tap Bank statements.
- Choose the date range.
- Choose the format: PDF, CSV or QIF.
Monzo says this covers all your statements, including Pots.
Which format to choose
Choose CSV if you want to open the transactions in Excel or Google Sheets. Choose PDF if you need to send the statement to someone, such as a mortgage lender. Monzo says: All of our bank statements are original documents. So you shouldn't need to get them stamped or signed for your mortgage or visa application.
Closed accounts
Monzo says that when it closes an account it emails a statement with your full transaction history, password protected, and texts you the password.
When a converter still helps
Because Monzo offers CSV directly, you only need a converter if all you have is a PDF, for example one you saved earlier or were sent. Our converter cannot open password-protected PDFs, so remove the password first if you are allowed to.
Turning the PDF into a spreadsheet
Once you have the PDF, you can drop it into our statement converter for an Excel file, or the PDF to CSV converter for a CSV file. The statement is read inside your own browser and is never uploaded. The converter checks that the running balance adds up and highlights any rows that need a second look. Scanned or photographed statements, and password-protected PDFs, cannot be read.
